Anyone in the area is welcome to call up (in the phone book, remember those?) and visit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kids:<\/strong><br \/>\nHeather inherited a 14.6 acre part of the homestead and created the Heather Koponen Conservation Property.  There are a handful of yaks on the property.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/koponenalaska.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/20150919_133458_900x506-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"20150919_133458_900x506\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-716\" srcset=\"https:\/\/koponenalaska.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/20150919_133458_900x506-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/koponenalaska.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/20150919_133458_900x506-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/koponenalaska.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/20150919_133458_900x506.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Koponen Homestead, under the guidance of LLC manager Chena Koponen Newman and the Friends of Koponen Homestead (a non-profit), is working on trails expansion on the remainder.<\/p>\n<p>Sauna, though reduced in numbers, carries on every Sunday evening, administered by Alex.<\/p>\n<p>Nonni and Sanni are still living on the east coast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grand kids:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Max is still in Boston, married last year to Sophia Snyder.\u00a0 They are now expecting their first kid in April 2016. \u00a0 That will be the second grandkid to report.\u00a0 Ben is working for the State of Alaska in Anchorage.\u00a0\u00a0 Dane is still in Santa Fe going to art school.
