{"id":333,"date":"2013-02-10T21:14:10","date_gmt":"2013-02-11T06:14:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/koponenalaska.wordpress.com\/?p=333"},"modified":"2013-02-10T21:14:10","modified_gmt":"2013-02-11T06:14:10","slug":"noreaster-blows-into-fairbanks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/koponenalaska.org\/?p=333","title":{"rendered":"Nor&#8217;easter blows into Fairbanks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had a fast-paced but fun visit from Max&#8217;s band <a title=\"Nor'easter contradance band\" href=\"http:\/\/www.noreasterband.com\">Nor&#8217;easter<\/a> the beginning of February, coming to Fairbanks for the <a title=\"Contra Borealis Dancers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.contraborealis.org\">Contra Borealis Dancer<\/a>&#8216;s Winter Dance Weekend.\u00a0\u00a0 Got all the siblings out to dance (Alex wins the stamina award) and Joan also joined for a concert at the College Coffeehouse.\u00a0\u00a0 The band and Brattleboro, VT caller Rebecca Lay returned to the Northeast just in time for a real Nor&#8217;easter.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You can listen to the band&#8217;s <a title=\"Nor'easter on Alaska Live\" href=\"http:\/\/fm.kuac.org\/post\/noreaster-alaska-live\">interview and music podcast<\/a> on our public radio station KUAC&#8217;s website.\u00a0 We took everyone dog mushing and on a trip to <a title=\"Chena Hot Springs\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chenahotsprings.com\/\">Chena Hot Springs<\/a> for a surreal soak surrounded by snow and ice following the weekend. \u00a0Max managed to fit in time to visit with Grandma and Grandpa and take in Sunday sauna.
