{"id":117,"date":"2008-07-30T23:18:44","date_gmt":"2008-07-31T08:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/koponenalaska.wordpress.com\/?p=117"},"modified":"2008-07-30T23:18:44","modified_gmt":"2008-07-31T08:18:44","slug":"finally-dry-enough-to-go-outside-again-july-30th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/koponenalaska.org\/?p=117","title":{"rendered":"Finally dry enough to go outside again &#8211; July 30th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Niilo enjoyed wheeling out to the newspaper box and sitting perusing the paper in the welcome sunshine this evening.\u00a0 And he very much enjoyed the raspberries and carrots Joan and Heather picked while he visited with Nancy D, whose new farm he visited last week.<\/p>\n<p>Other outings have included visiting the Pioneers Home along with Mom, Quaker meetings and potluck.\u00a0 Thanks for visits from Dick, Nancy H.D., Brian, Caroline, DeVonne;\u00a0continued stimulation, meals, and other help from Marilyn, Dot, Chena, Alex, and Heather; and calls from Nonni, Sanni, Dane, Harry, and occasional other Finnish-American friends.<\/p>\n<p>Niilo communicates that he would like to be more mobile and self-sufficient and finds it frustrating that his brain and body are still lacking the organization and strength for\u00a0greater progress.\u00a0 Still, he sometimes smiles and laughs and usually enjoys conversation and having news read aloud.
